This journey was held at the conference room of the nursery companies (INSTM-APIA) at INSTM center of Monastir, Tunisia. It started at 9:00 o’clock on Wednesday 30th September and was over at 16:30 pm of the same day. The journey was conducted by the National Institute of Science and Technology in collaboration with the Tunisian Association of Marine science, to monitor the risk modeling and mitigation of algal blooms harmful benthic along the Mediterranean coast (M3-HABs).
During this day, Tunisian experts gave lectures on networks surveillance of production areas for bivalve molluscs, cyanobacteria inland waters, monitoring the microbiological quality of bathing water in order to give an overview on the role of research in their operation.
Followed reflections of recommendations have led to the establishment of a monitoring of benthic microalgae G. Ostreopsis which will be combined with the observation network of the bacteriological quality of bathing water in Tunisia. However, considerable efforts on qualified personal plan, means, and infrastructure are deployed to make these monitoring networks effective in the context of operational laboratories according to the standards establishing a quality assurance system followed by different analyses accreditation.
